Let’s start with the name: Odonata is the Latin collective term for the group comprising all dragonflies and damselflies, which are found in abundance around the pond on the grounds. Inspired by these elegant and unique creatures, we strive to offer our guests a refined and exceptional experience.
Odonata is a true paradise for animal lovers: from humble ducks to spectacular birds of prey, from singing blackbirds to stately herons and storks, right through to wildlife such as pheasants and hares – the biodiversity is immense. In addition, there are cows (and their calves in the spring) in the adjacent meadow.
Odonata is also ideal for true connoisseurs: they’ll be spoilt for choice by the various local (farm) shops and (gourmet) restaurants, across a wide range of price points.
Those who enjoy getting out and about can take a trip to Bruges, Damme or the coast.
Active travellers who like to enjoy comfort in the mornings and evenings have come to the right place at Odonata. Cycling and walking tourism are very popular in and around Damme. This is partly due to the excellent cycle and walking paths and the green surroundings. If required, guests can charge their electric bikes at the dedicated socket near the covered terrace. Odonata is also just a few kilometres from Damme Golf, making it ideal for those who enjoy a round of golf.
On the ground floor, there is a spacious bathroom with a shower and washbasin, a hairdryer, shampoo and shower gel. There is also a separate toilet. The open-plan kitchen, dining area and living room open onto the terrace and look out onto the garden and the green surroundings. The terrace is furnished with a dining table and a lounge set. On the upper floor, there is a separate storage room, ideal for travel bags and/or suitcases. Extra blankets are also kept here, which can be used if required. To the left and right are the two bedrooms, each with a double bed, a clothes rack and a desk with an armchair, which can also be used as a small dressing table.
Bed linen, towels and bathrobes are also provided. The whole house is heated and cooled via underfloor heating and cooling. Under normal circumstances, the room temperature is maintained at 21 to 22 degrees. In addition, the property is always cleaned before arrival and, for longer stays, on a weekly basis.
Odonata was conceived with the idea that guests should be able to relax immediately from the moment they step onto the grounds. They can park for free and securely on the private grounds, charge their car at the designated charging point and check in easily using a digital pass on their phone. After that, all that’s left to do is ‘enjoy’ – the holiday begins straight away.
